This role will be responsible for developing and implementing the marketing strategy for all events across Asia Pacific. This position will work in close collaboration with the design, programming, operations and sales teams. This role will report directly to the Director of Events, Asia Pacific.
In the role you would be expected to:
- Develop overall strategy for positioning, pricing and marketing the Events portfolio in Asia Pacific.
- Oversee and manage execution of the full marketing mix (direct marketing, advertising, event website management, PR and social media) for audience acquisition and retention on all events from The Economist Events in Asia Pacific.
- Provide marketing leadership and manage the event marketing team, including one Marketing Manager, one Digital Marketing Executive, two Client Relations Executives, Designers and temporary staff as necessary.
- Work with Events Director to develop overall strategy for the business.
- Responsible for audience delivery and achieving delegate revenue targets for all events.
- On-site management for each event, managing registration, s
ponsor liaison and PR/media. - Develop and manage event marketing budget with Associate Director.
- Work closely with design, programming, operations and sales functions on an on-going basis.
- Manage customer relationship management (CRM) for event group including data collection, database management and customer messaging.
- Lead the marketing team in monitoring and analysing the effectiveness of event marketing campaigns to increase delegate revenue.
- Develop strategic and broad-based partnerships with relevant media and industry & business association groups.
- Develop strong understanding of the diverse markets the Events team serves.
- Oversee outside service partners, marketing agencies and public relations.
- Work with event marketing leaders in EMEA and the Americas to ensure a consistency in marketing approaches across the different regions of The Economist Events global business.
- Champion global event brands that originate in Asia and provide support to regional marketing colleagues where necessary.
Creative Services
- Work with in-house and external creative resources to develop communications and marketing collaterals that are on-brand.
- Ensure standards of excellence and accuracy across all creative outputs.
