Waggener Edstrom Communications, one of the world’s largest independent public relations and integrated communications agencies, is seeking a Senior Account Executive to join our team. In this role, the candidate will focus on corporate citizenship and public affairs communications, leading accounts that support the global nonprofit community and local policy initiatives in Washington state.
The ideal candidate will bring at least five years of communications experience in an agency or industry setting and a love for driving human interest stories that demonstrate how technology can empower people and organizations. They will also have a strategic mindset, great writing and storytelling abilities, strong organizational and client management skills, and a high level of initiative. The best positioned candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, be creative and ambitious, and demonstrate strong intellect, work ethic and diligence. They will also have a great sense of humor, curiosity and know when it is time to celebrate and have fun!
Responsibilities:
- Manage relationships with key media and influencers.
- Solicit and share feedback/perceptions from media and influencers in order to counsel clients and inform actions.
- Drive integrated communication plans and provide strategic counsel to clients.
- Ensure internal and external stakeholders are aligned and collaborate with other business leads to drive best results for all parties.
- Negotiate and manage client expectations and satisfaction.
- Research and share industry insights, shifts and opportunities in the landscape of corporate citizenship and public affairs.
- Bring a sense of imagination and courage to the team to develop creative ways to reach objectives.
Qualifications:
- Manage and motivate career development and performance of direct reports.
- At least 5 years’ experience in communications– in an agency or applicable industry.
- Minimum of 3 years integrated communications management and execution experience, including developing plans, launch strategies, product positioning, pitching stories, negotiation, budget responsibility, media training, messaging and creative tactical ideas.
- Strong organizational skills & ability to multi-task, work in a team environment, and meet deadlines
- Bachelor’s degree required in Communications, Journalism, Marketing or related field.
