Waggener Edstrom, one of the world’s largest independent PR and integrated communications companies, is in search of a top-notch Assistant Account Executive to service our consumer campaigns work. As an Assistant Account Executive, you will create, manage and execute consumer PR campaigns with media, tastemakers and consumers on behalf of clients like Microsoft, Woodford Reserve, Skype and more. Through storytelling, branded integrations, seasonal campaigns, social media, events and more we partner with our clients to drive brand recognition, relevance and resonance on a global scale. We create integrated communication programs that leverage our extensive influencer relationships, incorporate our deep understanding of consumer trends and focus on achieving desired results.
Responsibilities:
Influencer Engagement
• Begin developing relationships with media/influencers
• Develop further understanding of influencers & issues globally
• Monitor coverage & conversations in social media
• Craft & customize influencer pitches & social media content
• Contribute ideas & brainstorm on media/ influencer strategies
Digital & Social Media Acumen
• Monitor, report & provide insight on competitor & issue-specific social media activities, unique & creative uses of social campaigns or emerging technologies as necessary
• Draft & finalize social media content for agency-managed client accounts Client Engagement
• Begin engaging & increasing client-facing interactions
• Develop final internal & external materials including action emails & recaps for internal & external clients
• Read & report coverage & issue developments
• Offer increased level of analysis & strategic recommendations based on industry knowledge
Business Acumen & Strategic Thinking
• Less oversight & fewer edits required on entry-level projects
• Refine analytic capabilities
• Materials & contributions reflect understanding of client/industry landscapes & ability to connect the dots
• Integrate & gather information across teams, clients & partners as needed for projects
New Business Development
• Become familiar with WE capabilities across the agency including practice groups & service offerings in comparison to competitor agencies
• Assist in researching organic growth new business efforts including sourcing & gathering audience, industry or competitor market data
People Leadership
• Take accountability for role on projects
• Demonstrate ability to give/accept feedback
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Model agency values
Qualifications:
• Typically minimum 1-2 years of communications, marketing, or media experiences; can include internship experience
• Understands the role of the media/influencers & how Integrated Communication provides value
• Demonstrated client service orientation
• Strong organizational skills & ability to multi-task, work in a team environment, and meet deadlines
• Proficiency in computers & standard office applications (Microsoft Office is preferred)
• Bachelor’s degree or above preferred in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English or related field
