We have an exciting and unique opportunity for a well-qualified Technical Project Manager to join our team. This is a three months contract opportunity (possibly extending to 12/18 months). You will engage with one of the most respected brands in media, journalism and publishing to help drive success and innovation in the digital realm, particularly in the native/web apps and mobile web arena.
You will help us execute our strategy by owning and coordinating our business-to-technology relationships to craft creative and innovative digital solutions that deliver high business value. You will also facilitate day-to-day project operations and communications in an Agile, Scrum framework and by supporting teams in their product development initiatives.
You will have the opportunity to engage in many diverse parts of the business, but we are immediately looking for an individual to help drive the data stream of a group wide project on “Customer, Access, Subscription and Ecommerce platform” as well as supporting on-going projects the Data Team.
In the role you would be expected to:
- Manage business stakeholder engagement to serve as primary point of contact for all agile project related matters and growing business trust
- Maintain an attitude of accountability while leading a team to achieve deadlines, budgetary goals and business partner expectations
- Prioritise business stakeholder requests in collaboration with them by aligning stories where possible with relevant Economist Digital KPIs
- Run client requirement workshops, ensuring that all business information is accurately documented
- Ensure that all projects meet relevant quality assurance standards
- Foster communication and productive relationships with Product Owners, team members and other stakeholders
- Ensure that the Scrum Teams, both the internal and external teams, adhere to Scrum values, practices, and rules
- Help the internal and external Scrum teams,as well as the organization and our development partners to improve its Scrum and Agile practices
- Work with teams to remove impediments blocking completion/commitment of work
- Coordinate project retrospectives against success metrics, KPIs and Omniture analysis following strategic project launches
- Work external vendors to create respectful, positive and collaborative relationships to deliver higher quality products
- Maintain and share an up-to-date awareness of industry trends, new technology and exploring those that would benefit our business
- Assist in the selection and day-to-day management of vendors and service providers
- Route stakeholder’s requests through the appropriate Digital Solutions resource team
- Deliver high quality app updates with no defects
- Manage Scrum teams effectively within established Scrum framework
- Facilitate continuous improvements to help the Scrum Team measure its own performance
In the role, you will be expected to :
- Improve text by identifying inconsistencies and errors (both language and content) and resolving ambiguous passages in conjunction with the Editor
- Manage the on-screen sub editing complying with the company house style. This includes checking grammar, punctuation and spelling
- Check internal consistency of statistical data
- Handle text, tables and charts within a custom-built template. You will ensure that the final formatting and page layout of both print and electronic products within the template are compliant with house style
- Send both print and electronic products for final publication through the template
- Use the content management system to sub edit and publish directly to the website
- Ensure the quality of online events-driven pieces
In addition, you will be capable of:
- Assisting other regional Sub Editors, Regional Director and Regional Editors when uneven work-flows arise
- Attending regional and Sub Edit meetings
- Handling the regional daily, weekly and monthly schedules through Sub Edit
- Assisting the manager with the scheduling through Sub Edit to Production of CRS ratings reports within the Europe region
- Training a new regional Sub Editor, in conjunction with your manager
