Reporting to the EVP, Chief Strategy Officer, Asia Pacific , with dotted line reporting to both the Chairman and Vice Chairman, Asia Pacific, the Head of Marketing is responsible for building and driving a successful marketing strategy across Asia Pacific, in line with the overall business objectives of the agency.
Responsibilities
- Develop the overall regional marketing strategy based on global direction, regional business objectives and local market plans. Identify new opportunities and initiatives throughout the year to help strengthen the strategy
- In line with our “engaging, always.” positioning, build a strong employer brand proposition that focuses on the stages: recruitment, retention and alumni
- Oversee the digital marketing strategy and ensure relevant marketing objectives are being met in the digital output
- Provide quarterly marketing progress updates to senior management
- Be the point person for all globally driven brand positioning or brand offering initiatives and work with the regional marketing team to execute, and where necessary localise, ensuring successful roll-out
- Build strong relationships and regularly communicate with the local market leaders to ensure their local inititiatives are well supported (where relevant) and that they are informed of regional and global marketing initiatives so they can be leveraged
- Manage the regional budget, forecasting annual expectations and be the lead to negotiate sponsorship, advertisement and other financial commitments
- Support the marketing manager to review brand related content ensuring consistent quality across all markets.
- Coach and assist the marketing manager on the awards process which includes, but is not limited to, reviewing entries and editing for quality consistency, and training for the regional marketing, and local teams, as required.
- Review industry publications for news and other relevant information about Weber Shandwick and share with senior management as appropriate
- Retain a watching brief on related CMG agency marketing initiatives and share with line reports where appropriate
- From sponsorship management to research rollout roadshows, work with the marketing manager to drive, or support, special projects throughout the year
- Work with design staff and other relevant parties for execution of branded content and sponsorship materials. Also regional thought leadership related reports.
