As the research and analysis division of the Economist Group, The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) helps leaders prepare for opportunity, empowering them to act with confidence when making strategic decisions. The EIU is the global standard in providing quality, actionable intelligence to the public and private sector, assessing issues that impact the marketplace for over two hundred countries.
Currently, we are seeking a Marketing Director to join the EIU leadership team while managing a dynamic group of marketing professionals dedicated to the delivery of high quality new business leads for our subscription and custom research product offerings.
In this role you will have overall responsibility for building brand awareness (via PR and social media) and demand generation (nurturing and qualification of prospects). The Marketing Director will also act as marketing representative on the product development team, offering market insight and validation for potential new services as well as oversee marketing operations for the EIU’s health-care consulting division.
Additional responsibilities will include providing effective support to the sales team in retention and up-sell of existing subscription clients and the smooth running of the customer services team, our print fulfilment operations and focusing on opportunities to maximize revenue from the e-commerce platform.
In this role you will be expected to:
- Lead the EIU Marketing team to ensure high quality support and services to all business areas of the EIU
- Drive the overall marketing strategy for the EIU and contribute to broader EIU strategy as part of the Management Committee
- Manage the demand generation process through high quality lead, nurturing campaigns and qualification procedures
- Deliver market insight to assist in product development process. This includes broad market research, competitive analysis and regular direct contact with clients and prospects
- Be a marketing representative on subscriptions steering group while working with other functions to ensure that the correct strategy is set and followed
- Successfully launch commercial of new services through innovative marketing techniques
- Manage the marketing strategy for healthcare division, ensuring delivery of high standard communications that raise awareness of EIU capabilities in this area
- Support the subscription renewal activity though efficient onboarding and ongoing training and support for existing clients
- Manage the customer services operations, ensuring that processes are in place for efficient response to inbound enquiries
- Co-ordination of EIU’s pricing strategy
