Edelman’s Los Angeles office has an exciting opportunity for an experienced crisis and risk management practitioner. We are seeking a Senior Vice President (SVP) to team with our Managing Director for the Western Region to: lead existing client work and pursue new business, both regionally and nationally; enhance and scale our practice capability in the region; and develop new specialties, offerings and capabilities to capture strategic growth opportunities. The position will enable exposure to leadership of the Crisis & Risk practice and to the broader Edelman network. A proven expertise in crisis readiness and complex issues, such as legal and regulatory matters, is preferable.
Some responsibilities of the Senior Vice President:
• Lead and grow existing business, including both crisis readiness and crisis response work
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities, in partnership with home office, region and practice
• Partner with other practices and offices in both client service and new business
• Collaborate with Managing Director in advancing the practice in the region and creating new intellectual property for the firm
• Manage junior staff, including those in geographically dispersed offices
• Support practice reporting and training
• Provide strategic counsel, guidance and leadership to staff, supervising several staff members, and ensuring the team’s success by managing work quality and productivity levels
• Maintain relationships with senior-level client contacts and internal contacts
• Mentor, coach and support team members ensuring constant development of their skills
• Effectively manage staff utilization to meet profitability targets
• Commit to continuous learning and improvement of leadership skills; set and pursue stretch goals
